Dr. Saddoris received her Ph.D. in monogastric nutrition from Purdue University in 2007.
Dr. Saddoris was raised on a small family farm in Northwest Illinois. She obtained her B.S. degree in Animal Sciences from the University of Illinois in 2001. She then received a M.S. degree in monogastric nutrition at the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2003. Her research evaluated the efficacy of a transgenic alfalfa-phytase to improve phosphorus bioavailability in corn-soybean meal diets fed to weanling pigs. While working toward a Ph.D. degree at Purdue University she served as both a research and teaching assistant in the area of swine nutrition. Her Ph.D. research focused on dietary factors affecting sodium-dependent phosphate uptake and expression of the NaPi-IIb gene in the small intestine of weanling pigs.
Dr. Saddoris accepted a position with Akey as a swine nutritionist in 2007. She is a member of the American Society of Animal Sciences and the American Society of Nutrition.
