Dr. Matthew Greenwood attended the University of Missouri where he completed a BS (2001) in Animal Science. He then earned an MS in Poultry Science under the direction of Dr. Park Waldroup at the University of Arkansas in 2002. In 2004, he completed his Ph.D. in Animal Sciences and Industry with an emphasis in monogastric nutrition from Kansas State University. His research focused on the effects of feed form on nutrient intake and utilization by broilers. The results of that work have developed into over 13 publications including refereed journal articles, scientific abstracts, popular press articles, and invited presentations.
After graduating, Dr. Greenwood worked for a major pet food company as a Research Scientist with the Formulation Services group. His responsibilities included evaluation of raw ingredient quality, cost optimization of pet food formulas, and conducting cost reductions projects related to the use of alternative ingredients.
In 2005 Dr. Greenwood accepted a position as a Poultry Nutritionist with Akey. He is a member of the Poultry Science Association.
